July 4th Around Town: If you are looking for events to attend in and around Kansas City, here are a few ideas.
- Liberty 4th Fest: On July 3rd, the family fun kicks off at 5:30 with food trucks, kids’ activities and a Pink Floyd cover band. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. at the Fountain Bluff Sports Complex.
- Parkville July 4th Celebration: All-day parades, carnival rides, food, fun, games, and music will keep everyone happy. Watch the Falcon Skydiving Expedition from Platte Landing Park and stay for the fireworks.
- Fort Leavenworth Salute to the Union and 4th of July Celebration: This family-friendly event on Merritt Lake will feature a demonstration by the Kansas State University Parachute team, followed by fireworks.
- KC Riverfest: Starting at 4 p.m, at Berkley Riverfront Park, enjoy live performances on three different stages, and fireworks over the Missouri River to follow.
- Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular: Enjoy food, music and children’s activities, culminating with a fireworks display.
- Jackson County’s “Big Bang” 4th of July Celebration: The Longview Lake Beach celebration offers live music, military salutes, a skydiving display, and fireworks over the lake.
