Floral Designs to Thank Nurses & Teachers

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have." Margaret Mead They report to work every day, and they will be the first ones to tell you that they are only doing their jobs. But these unsung heroes of the Kansas City community are doing much more than that - every day they educate, influence, encourage, inspire, strengthen, and reassure those in their care. They are the world-changers that operate behind-the-scenes, the ones who may rarely be recognized but their presence is always felt. In May, we have the two chances to thank nurses and teachers officially for all of their commitment and dedication. National Teachers Week is May 7-13 and National Nurses Week is celebrated May 6-12. Read More about Floral Designs to Thank Nurses & Teachers »

Send Flowers for Administrative Professionals Week

In post-World War II America, businesses were thriving and in need of more people to join the workforce. At that time, secretaries were normally male, but more were needed. National Secretaries Day was launched as a recruitment tool of sorts, to encourage women to train for a career as a secretary, and the rest is history. Throughout the decades, many things have changed - for instance, the job title "secretary" has largely been replaced by "administrative professional", which is a more encompassing job title. Also, administrative employees are now primarily female, with men only representing 5% of the administrative workforce.  Read More about Send Flowers for Administrative Professionals Week »

What is National Puppy Day?

National Puppy Day is a grassroots movement that seeks to educate pet owners on several fronts. The organizers want to bring attention to the overpopulation problem in the United States as well as to the need to spay or neuter your pet - but the main purpose for the day is to encourage adoption from shelters. 3.9 million dogs enter shelters each year, and unfortunately 1.4 million are subsequently euthanized. Only 35% of dogs who are in shelters will find a forever home. And although puppies born in shelters certainly have a much higher rate of adoption, founder Colleen Paige wanted to encourage prospective pet parents to visit shelters when ready for a new family member. St. Patrick’s Day Traditions

Like Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day is a religious observance that has largely been overshadowed by the cultural celebration that has come to define the day. On St. Patrick's Day we see large parades with extravagant floats, Irish music festivals at every small pub, and everyone wears green regardless of their heritage. We decorate our homes, offices, and workspaces with green as well - from banners and balloons to exquisite green florals - what are your St. Patrick's Day traditions? At Tobler's Flowers, you'll find the s and plants you need to paint Kansas City green on March 17th.  Read More about St. Patrick’s Day Traditions »

The Season for Spring Flowers

By the time March rolls around, we are all fairly ready for winter to be over! Is anyone else looking forward to the arrival of the spring? We think it is appropriate that it is a that symbolizes the impatience we all feel for the change of seasons. The crocus is one of the very first s to brave the cool weather. The tiny but brave announces the imminent demise of winter by emerging from still frozen soil - sometimes even braving snow cover - to signal the arrival of spring. At Tobler's Flowers, we are also excited about the springtime, and we are looking forward all of the beautiful, vibrant floral designs that feature spring s. Whether for a special occasion or an everyday gift - you will love all of our fresh bouquets and arrangements. Bringing Random Acts of Kindness to Kansas City

It is always important to be kind to those around us, but Random Acts of Kindness Day gives everyone the opportunity to focus on finding little ways to make a big difference in someone’s life. As you go through your day, do you consider ways to show simple kindness to the people you encounter? Perhaps you had a positive exchange with a sales clerk, so you took an extra minute to mention it to their supervisor. Or maybe a server was particularly friendly, so you left a larger-than-normal tip. Maybe you just made a point of paying a compliment to someone, making them smile all day! Your small actions often have a big impact - and this is the motivation behind the internationally recognized day. At Tobler's Flowers, we participate in spreading joy and happiness every day, so this February 17th, we 'd love to help you plan something special.  Read More about Bringing Random Acts of Kindness to Kansas City »
